About EnenKio Gold Stamps

The struggle of any new nation for economic self-reliance, political recognition and territorial sovereignty in a world dominated by a few industrialized militaristic nations, which profess to promote principals of moral inheritance, but have an agenda of leveraging power beyond all borders, is challenge enough. Certainly this is one of the many faced by the newest island nation in the North Pacific Ocean, the Kingdom of EnenKio, formerly a cultural site and pantry atoll for Marshallese navigators and sailors.

First Issue in the New Millennium

For the first time since the nation formed under King Hermios, whose personal aim was the removal of all foreign invaders from the three tiny islands often collectively called "Wake Atoll," the government-in-exile has begun to issue a series of commemorative gold stamps. In some ways, they are unlike postage stamps of every other country. In the first place, the political status of EnenKio as a new "re-emerging" nation, seeking to reclaim land seized and illegally held captive by the United States, is unique in itself. Since the islands are occupied by foreign forces, the EnenKio Postal Authority also functions in exile and no means of utilizing stamps for actually posting mail is possible while in another state's domain. Thus, EnenKio's situation is similar to other states that issued stamps prior to being released from subjugation by their colonial slave masters or administrators. Stamps in this inaugural issue are offered at a point in the quest for liberation of the Kingdom when a virtual state of "cold" war exists between EnenKio and the United States.

Design Innovations

Each stamp carries an official gold icon. Face values of stamps are expressed in terms of weights (e.g. grains) of fine gold bullion, rather than in terms of currency units of any particular nation. With limited production runs, gold-based evaluation and unusual design innovations, these stamps are intended to be immensely attractive to collectors; however, they are not intended for use as units of monetary exchange or facsimile money. Each of these vivid high quality gold stamps were designed with specific Story-Lines to honor or commemorate an event, an act, a viewpoint, a policy, a loss of freedoms or one of the national economic development programs.

Actual Value Considerations

While the price of gold expressed in currency units may fluctuate due to changes in the market value of that currency, the actual gold-based value of EnenKio stamps remains constant. Sales price of stamps is fixed by the market price for gold on the day of the purchase transaction, less applicable discounts, if any. Stamps may be acquired in any amount from any geographic location with any internationally traded currency or by bank draft, wire transfer, electronic currency or major charge card.
